WHO WE ARE?
Legal ID Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing safe, ethical, and rights-based migration in Pakistan, with a strong focus on strengthening the rule of law. We empower migrants, communities, and stakeholders through targeted training, research, and advocacy, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to navigate migration challenges effectively. We actively champion migrants’ rights, produce evidence-based resources, and foster collaboration among migrants, government agencies, civil society, and the broader public to promote inclusive, transparent, and progressive migration policies in Pakistan.
WHAT WE DO?
Training and Capacity Building
Legal ID Foundation conducts targeted training programs and capacity-building initiatives to enhance the knowledge and skills of stakeholders involved in migration, including government officials, law enforcement, civil society organizations, and immigration practitioners. Our goal is to equip them with the tools and expertise to address migration challenges effectively, ethically, and in line with human rights principles.
Research & Development
We carry out comprehensive research on migration related issues, including human trafficking, smuggling, labour migration, remittances, irregular migration, and reintegration of returnees. Through evidence based analysis, we propose innovative solutions and policies to improve migration governance and support sustainable, rightsbased migration practices in Pakistan.
Advocacy
Legal ID Foundation champions the rights and well-being of migrants by promoting safe and legal migration channels, combating irregular practices, safeguarding access to justice, social integration, and economic opportunities. We engage with policymakers, government agencies, and international organizations to develop progressive and inclusive migration policies.
Dissemination of Information
We provide a dynamic platform for knowledge-sharing, publishing research studies, policy briefs, expert insights, and other resources. By disseminating accurate and accessible information, we help stakeholders, researchers, policymakers, and the public better understand migration issues, laws, and best practices.
Facilitate Dialogue
Legal ID Foundation facilitate dialogue and collaboration among migrants, government agencies, civil society, researchers, development partners and the public. We bridge gaps for those affected by irregular migration, documentation challenges, and asylum issues, promoting cooperative, evidence-informed approaches that strengthen migration governance and uphold the rights and dignity of all migrants.
